Who we are

Hunter Digital Media is a live streaming and video production business run by Joshua Barnett in Newcastle, NSW. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Hunter Digital Media. You can reach us at Hello@hunterdigitalmedia.com.au or on 0423 914 674.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to quote, book and deliver your job:

The details you send through our contact and quote forms: your name, email, phone number and event details.
The emails you send us.
Booking and invoice details. We use Xero for quotes and invoices.
Footage and photos of the events we are booked to film or live stream. This can include the people who attend.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, quote, book, invoice and deliver the work. We do not sell personal information.

Some replies to pricing enquiries are prepared with automated tools that we run ourselves. We check bookings personally.

Live streams and recordings

Streams are published on YouTube as unlisted or private links shared with the client, unless the client asks for something different. The client controls who receives the link. We keep recordings so we can deliver them, and we can remove them on request.

Google and YouTube

We use the YouTube API Services to schedule live streams on our own YouTube channel.

By watching our live streams you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Facebook and Instagram messages

If you message our Facebook Page, we receive your message and your public profile name through Meta. We use them only to reply to you.

Services we use

We rely on a few outside services to run the business. Each has its own privacy policy.

Netlify hosts this website and receives the form submissions.
Xero produces our quotes and invoices.
Proton Mail carries our email.
YouTube and Google host and schedule our live streams.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) carries messages sent to our Page.
Google Fonts supplies the typeface used on this website.
Some pages show YouTube videos. These load only after you press play, and use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.

This website does not use advertising or analytics trackers.

Storage, security and how long we keep it

We keep your information in the services listed above and on our own secured devices. We keep what we need for as long as the booking needs it. Financial records are generally kept for 5 years, as Australian tax law requires. After that we delete or de-identify them. Recordings are kept so we can deliver them, and we remove them on request.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing Hello@hunterdigitalmedia.com.au. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have a complaint we will try to fix it first, and you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
