Funeral live streaming in Newcastle

Newcastle is where we are based, so this is our shortest drive and our most familiar ground. Nearly every Newcastle funeral runs through one of a handful of chapels, and we have worked in them.

What makes Newcastle different

Some Newcastle chapels now have in-house webcasting through an automated fixed-camera system. That is fine for a straightforward service, and if it covers what your family needs you should use it. What it does not do is cut between angles, follow a eulogy from the lectern to a grandchild in the front row, or take a feed from a musician. If the service has movement in it, an operated multi-camera stream is a different thing entirely.

We cover Mayfield, Wallsend, Adamstown, Hamilton, Merewether, Stockton, Beresfield, Sandgate, Lambton, Broadmeadow, New Lambton and the rest of the Newcastle local government area. There is no travel surcharge anywhere in that area.

Chapels, churches and crematoria we cover in Newcastle

Every venue below is a real, currently operating location. If yours is not listed, it does not mean we cannot work there, it means we have not written it up yet.

  • Newcastle Memorial Park Beresfield The main crematorium for Newcastle and, because Maitland and Port Stephens have no crematorium of their own, for much of the surrounding area too. Both the North and East chapels are fitted with their own audio-visual systems, and the venue publishes strict media rules: MP4 or WMV in 16:9 and MP3 only, no CDs, DVDs, PowerPoint or streaming links, delivered 48 business hours before the service, with testing only on weekdays between 8.30am and 3.30pm. We handle that submission for you.
  • Pettigrew Family Funerals, Mayfield West Mayfield West A 550-seat main chapel, a 50-seat private chapel and an on-site crematorium, with parking for around 200 cars. Large services here are exactly where a second camera earns its place, because from the back of a 550-seat room a single wide shot shows very little.
  • Pettigrew Family Funerals, Wallsend Wallsend A 120-seat chapel with an attached function centre, recently renovated.
  • Sandgate Cemetery Chapel Sandgate The restored 1936 inter-war Gothic chapel on the Metropolitan Memorial Parks site at Maitland Road. A heritage building with no published AV facilities, which is precisely the kind of venue where bringing your own everything matters.
  • Christ Church Cathedral Newcastle The Anglican cathedral on Church Street, which keeps a dedicated funerals page of its own.
  • Sacred Heart Cathedral Hamilton The Catholic cathedral for the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
  • White Lady Funerals, Mayfield Mayfield An 80-seat chapel with room for about 20 standing.
  • Simplicity Funerals, Adamstown Adamstown A 70-seat chapel on Brunker Road with space for around 30 standing.

What we bring to every job

Starlink on every job

The stream runs on our own satellite connection, not the venue's wifi and not a mobile hotspot. Chapels, cemeteries, gardens and vineyards are exactly the places where reception fails, and we have removed that from the list of things you need to worry about.

The recording is guaranteed

We record locally on redundant media at the same time as we stream. If the internet drops, if the power goes out, if a viewer's connection fails, the recording is still made and you still receive it.

Blackmagic Design broadcast kit

Real cameras and a vision switcher, cut live between angles, with audio taken from the celebrant or the venue's own system. Not a phone on a tripod at the back of the room.

Quiet, and quick to book

We set up early, stay out of the way and pack down without interrupting anything. Funerals can be booked at a few days' notice, and the recording comes back to you quickly.

Common questions

Do you charge extra to travel to Newcastle?

No. There is no travel surcharge and no minimum booking anywhere in our service area.

Do you need the chapel's wifi?

No. We bring our own Starlink satellite connection to every service, so we do not need a password, a network exception or anything at all from the venue or the funeral director.

What if the service is in a few days?

Call us. Funerals are arranged quickly and we work to that. We will tell you on the phone whether the date is free rather than making you wait for an email.

Can you stream a graveside service?

Yes. Because we bring our own connection and our own power, an outdoor graveside service is no harder for us than a chapel.

Do we get the recording even if the stream fails?

Yes. We record locally on redundant media throughout. A dropped connection cannot cost you the footage.
