Funeral live streaming in Port Stephens

Port Stephens has no crematorium within the local government area. Services are held at a local chapel or church and the committal usually happens at Newcastle Memorial Park, Beresfield, which is a real drive from Nelson Bay.

What makes Port Stephens different

Two practical things about Port Stephens. First, because the committal is at Beresfield, relatives watching from elsewhere often see the chapel service and then lose the thread. We can carry both parts on one link. Second, none of the council cemeteries at Anna Bay, Nelson Bay, Raymond Terrace, Seaham or Karuah has an on-site chapel, so a graveside service here is outdoors with nothing to plug into. Nelson Bay Road between Salt Ash and Anna Bay, along with Fullerton Cove, Fern Bay and Williamtown, is on the federal mobile blackspot program's nominated list, and that is the road you drive to reach most of them.

We cover Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay, Corlette, Salamander Bay, Soldiers Point, Fingal Bay, Anna Bay, Medowie, Raymond Terrace, Karuah, Tanilba Bay, Lemon Tree Passage, Seaham, Williamtown and the rest of the Port Stephens local government area. There is no travel surcharge anywhere in that area.

What we bring to every job

Starlink on every job

The stream runs on our own satellite connection, not the venue's wifi and not a mobile hotspot. Chapels, cemeteries, gardens and vineyards are exactly the places where reception fails, and we have removed that from the list of things you need to worry about.

The recording is guaranteed

We record locally on redundant media at the same time as we stream. If the internet drops, if the power goes out, if a viewer's connection fails, the recording is still made and you still receive it.

Blackmagic Design broadcast kit

Real cameras and a vision switcher, cut live between angles, with audio taken from the celebrant or the venue's own system. Not a phone on a tripod at the back of the room.

Quiet, and quick to book

We set up early, stay out of the way and pack down without interrupting anything. Funerals can be booked at a few days' notice, and the recording comes back to you quickly.

Common questions

Do you charge extra to travel to Port Stephens?

No. There is no travel surcharge and no minimum booking anywhere in our service area.

Do you need the chapel's wifi?

No. We bring our own Starlink satellite connection to every service, so we do not need a password, a network exception or anything at all from the venue or the funeral director.

What if the service is in a few days?

Call us. Funerals are arranged quickly and we work to that. We will tell you on the phone whether the date is free rather than making you wait for an email.

Can you stream a graveside service?

Yes. Because we bring our own connection and our own power, an outdoor graveside service is no harder for us than a chapel.

Do we get the recording even if the stream fails?

Yes. We record locally on redundant media throughout. A dropped connection cannot cost you the footage.
